I have purchased a large very well done cartoon of one of the stations of the Cross. The cartoon is initialed L. H. B. It is on oak tag paper and drawn with graphite pencil. The artist/designer is very good. I believe it is eighty to a hundred years old and originated in Wisconsin. I would appreciate any help or resources that might help.   thanks   thomas j sanders m d

Thanks for the picture.
I?m not sure it is a stained glass cartoon.
If so, it may be a preliminary one. There are no lead lines and several areas of the design would need to be redrawn for glass cutting.
For example, where the robe of the centurion, (who is nailing the hand of Jesus) come close to the halo / head of Jesus.
The glass there, almost in the center of the window would need to be cut and a lead line added.
I love the piece but it may have been for something other then stained glass.
Mosaics for example are produced in a similar manner. The original drawing would be dotted with small holes along the major design lines and then pounced with a power on fresh cement. The small tiles would follow the lines of the design.
I hope this helps
