Locke is remembered as a studio owner, designer, craftsman and an excellent colorist. According to the SGAA's
Biographical Index (
http://www.stainedglass.org/html/SGAApublications.htm), he was a partner in Arnold & Locke ca 1880 through 1893, which company employed William Willet. After that, he owned the Locke Decorating Company in Brooklyn.
He worked with La Farge on the decoration of the Vanderbilt houses and his company had numerous installations in churches around New York and New Jersey.
