Hello,

I recently purchased a piece of stained glass art which the lable on the back reads made by dan rose of stained glass originals tacoma, Wa.  Basically I was hoping to find out a bit more about it.  I did find on the internet that he was respected artist in the industry and that he has passed on.  Does any one know of a site that might have more imfo on him and or his work?  The person i purchased it from said that they believed that it was made for a winery,  I would love to find out which winery.  I would also like to know what the value of something like this would be.

The dimension our approx.  5' X 32",  it weighs 75# easy,  it has a very beefy oak frame, the back has 3 indivisual mirrors held in by brass hardware,  the front is made to look like 3 indivisual windows and the multiple window panes are each beveled and seperated by brass,  there is about an inch seperating the front glass from the mirrors in back.  connected to the front and spanning the entire width  is a grape vine and grapes made of stained glass and bronze,  the vine and grapes are not inset to the glass rather they are attached making it 3-D.  This thing is extremely intricate in its detail,  the grapes and leaves actually shimmy/ shake indivisually from one another as if it were a real vine in a slight breeze.

any imfo/help would be greatly appreciated,  ty for your time.

Its sad to hear the Dan has passed on. I met Dan at an outdoor show and ordered a piece from him. I went to his house and was able to see the many beautiful projects including my favorite,  blue herons in a pond.

This link provides information from 2003.
